When the Marianas Alliance of Non-Governmental Organization (MANGO) reached out to the Rotary Club of Saipan, it wanted to make sure the club knew about its "cool" and "sustainable" development goals.
The group's communications and membership manager, Shawna Babauta, gave the club an overview of the nonprofit sector in the Northern Marianas, which she says is " underdeveloped but has great potential to enhance service capacity through partnerships with public agencies."
Babauta noted that nonprofit employment tends to be concentrated in sectors like health care, education, and social assistance, the Pacific Daily News reports.
"Furthermore," she added, "the data sets include employment statistics, revenue and funding services, program expenditures, economic output, and sustainable development goals."
Babauta said the nonprofit sector is needed in the Marianas because it is "a vast and diverse and diverse and includes most of the nation's religious congregations, environmental advocacy, civil rights, family, and children services, neighborhood development, community health facilities, foundations, anti-poverty hospitals, and universities."
