India's Ministry of Ayush has declared Oct.

29 of each year as "Ayurveda Innovations for Global Health" in an effort "to showcase Ayurveda's potential to improve global health through innovative practices and natural treatment methods," per a press release.

"Ayurveda's emphasis on lifestyle management, mental health, and care for the elderly provides resilient solutions for vulnerable populations," says the press release, which notes that the day is being celebrated in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

(Ayurveda's claim to fame is that it can cure cancer.)
